Why are we so focussed on the Porsche 911?
The iconic Porsche 911 was designed for driving! And particularly for the mountain passes and country roads of Bavaria, the Tyrolean Alps and the Dolomite Region of Northern Italy offered by the tours of Passo Tourismo.
In terms of robustness, pure drive feel and proven roadworthiness, the 911 Porsche Carrera stands in a class of its own. The 230+hp power plant, mated to a 5-speed gearbox, direct steering and tuned suspension give the driver optimal road feedback and ensure ample power for safe maneuvering on tight mountain roads.
This last evolutionary stage of the 911 Carrera, the 3.2 liter, is our personal favorite and is the iconic grand tourer that offers superior driving stamina and agility. It doesn’t have any of the electronic gimmicks of the later cars and requires an alert driver. This is one of the main reasons that Walter Röhrl, the German rallye legend und multiple world championship winner, only recently bought a 3.2-liter-Carrera for his private collection. Despite technological developments in Zuffenhausen, this engine is undisputedly Porsche’s best. Walter Röhrl would definitely agree.
The power and uninhibited pure driving feel of these cars demand a driver’s full attention. But it wouldn’t be a Porsche, if relaxed open-top cruising weren’t possible too.
Even though this sports car may look like a classic vintage car, we have fitted every one of our vehicles with the best available eco-friendly technologies, including state of the art metal catalytic converters and other equipment, that gives these vehicles Euro 2/D3 emissions status and allows for full access to all villages and cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, where smog-zones exist.
We have sought out the finest examples of air-cooled Porsche vehicles for you to fully enjoy the Passo Tourismo experience. All of our vehicles are owned and cared for by us and have been professionally prepared for alpine motoring to offer you THE ROADTRIP OF A LIFETIME.
We also offer our vehicles for rent on a daily basis. For weddings or short trips to the spectacular lakes near Munich, the price is 309€ per day (9a.m. - 6p.m.). Included are 200km, extra kilometers are 1,99€ each.
